Get your N1 coaches CPD-compliant

Every coach listed on an N1 team roster must satisfy the coach eligibility requirement. There are four ways to do this:

• Method 1: U.S. Soccer Licensing Course — at or above the minimum of ‘D’ license or equivalent earned in the past 5 years.
• Method 2: Complete the N1 certificate in the Coaches’ Voice platform before September 15 (fall season coaches) or January 15, 2027 (spring season coaches). Sign up on this page to get access.
• Method 3: Complete the ECNL certificate in the Coaches’ Voice platform before August 1 of the competition year (ECNL clubs only).
• Method 4: Coaching education pathway waiver – A waiver may be awarded if a coach can show that he/she is on the coaching education pathway. A waiver must be co-signed by the club director and USYS state association technical lead, stating the coach’s development plan, with timelines. This will be verified by the Operator.

Click "Register your club". You'll be asked to search for your club. The process takes roughly 5 minutes and you pay by card.

When registering, you will be able to select the total number of users you need. This should include a designated platform admin as well as all rostered coaches that need to do the N1 certificate with Coaches' Voice. The admin will be able to add/remove coaches and track coach progress. The admin could be anyone within the club, including a coach that also needs to complete the learning. Once you have registered and accessed your platform, you will be able to invite coaches using their email addresses.

This year, coaches who do not coach in the ECNL and who hold a D license or higher earned on or after January 1, 2021, are exempt from the requirement to complete 5 hours of CPD.

The N1 CPD package is the same as the ECNL CPD package — 3 hours of curated modules plus 2 hours selected from a pre-determined list of technical and tactical content from the Coaches' Voice library. All coaches also get full access to the entire Coaches' Voice and US Club Soccer content library as part of their subscription.

5 hours of learning in total. Coaches can complete it at their own pace across any number of sessions before the September 15, 2026 deadline.

Once a coach has completed their 5 hours, they can access their certificate through their profile in the Education Center. Under the dropdown menu, select 'Achievements' to find and download the certificate. This can then be uploaded directly to GotSport as proof of completion.

No. Coaches who coach in the ECNL satisfy the N1 requirement through their existing ECNL Coaches' Voice CPD — there is no separate registration or additional content required. The certificate they receive for completing ECNL CPD is the same certificate that satisfies the N1 requirement. Note that the ECNL deadline of July 31 applies, which is earlier than the N1 fall deadline of September 15. If any coaches at your club are coaching N1 teams but are not yet on your ECNL platform, click 'Register your club' to add them.

If you are an ECNL club, you will receive additional user licenses that you can use to add additional coaches to your existing platform. If you are not, Coaches' Voice will set up a new club platform for you and share access.
